It’s 4-H show season again.  all year SpiritHorse Riders work hard training and practicing to be the best and this is their chance to prove it.  This event is fun for the whole family and open to all with lead line classes, English and Western Performance classes, speed and jackpot.  There is a $85 all day fee or $10/class fee, $5 exhibition classes.madison-and-toni

Prizes will be awarded to all lead liners, and 1st through 3rd in each age division .All age divisions also have the chance to win belt buckles in the all around competition by showing in at least one class in two different categories (ex: Western and English or English and Speed)

Sept 20 – Pinto/All Breed Point Show

Each year South Texas Pinto offers two separate buckle series at the Guadalupe Fairgrounds and Rodeo Arena. There 10 buckles given out for each series! 5 buckles for Pinto Members and 5 buckles for All Breed! The first show in the Fall Series is September 20,2017 beginning at 8 am, books open at 7 am. 

High Point Awards

Walk/Trot 18 and under
Walk/Trot 19 and over
Walk/Trot Elite 50 and over
18 and under
19 and over
Mini and Pony
Mini and Pony under 12 hands


 You must show in both shows in a Circuit to qualify. And you must show a minimum of 5 classes per show. The horse with the highest points in each of the divisions out of both shows in each series wins a buckle!  This open show will a great way for SpiritHorse to test the kids skills before the up coming 4-H show.  It will be our first time going but what better way to test something out than by jumping feet first into it.  We are really excited to see the students preform for the first time this year on their new mounts.under and maybe even win a couple buckles.

Youth Horse Challenge

For the second year in a row SpiritHorse will be participating in the San Antonio Stock Show’s Horse Challenge as a way to test the knowledge skills and abilities of our young riders.  SpiritHorse will begin studying for this event the Monday October 2nd and each Monday until the event. Contestants compete in rounds including completing a record book, demonstrating knowledge of tack and equipment, exhibiting groundwork skills with their horse, and riding the horse in rail and obstacle classes.  Youth are judge based upon their performance and the training that they have put into their horse.

Youth will need to complete the following record book before January 25, 2017

Think you know all about your horse?  This event will test students knowledge through written work, hands on demonstration as well as speaking abilities.  This competition will really test your knowledge and talent in a fun way. The best part is you don’t even need a horse!
